LAPS FOR LIAM

Hey there! Welcome to Laps for Liam—where Liam, an energetic 10-year-old with big dreams, is hitting the track for a very special cause. Liam’s on a mission to complete lots of laps around a track, and he’s asking for pledges to help him raise money for something amazing: a “Not a Wheelchair Kid Rig.” This is a special hiking wheelchair that’ll let Liam go on bigger adventures, explore more trails, and even take on snowy paths! He has been training for weeks and right now, he’s up to 8 laps. Every pledge and every lap gets him closer to reaching his dream of exploring with even more freedom!

Laps for Liam will take place on November 16th, 2024.

MEET LIAM

He is a bright, kind, and adventurous 10-year-old who’s full of life and always ready for the next adventure! Despite having Spina Bifida, Liam is unstoppable. He loves the outdoors, playing with friends, reading, and especially exploring nature and playing in the snow. While he can walk short distances with the help of his AFO braces, he relies on his wheelchair for longer journeys. Liam’s goal is to be even more independent, and be able to tackle hiking trails and snowy paths with the help of a "Not a Wheelchair Kid Rig." This special hiking wheelchair would open up a world of exploration for him. He’s eager to achieve this dream, and with your support, he’s well on his way.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Dr. Russ McConahay from Northwest Orthotics

We want to give a HUGE thank you to one of our incredible sponsors, Russ (as we like to call him) from Northwest Orthotics.  Russ has been a part of Liam’s journey since he was a baby, helping him thrive and giving him a better quality of life through his amazing care. He’s not only an expert in his field but also one of the most compassionate doctors we know, always going above and beyond for his patients.

Russ also wears braces like Liam, making it extra special for Liam to connect with an adult who not only understands but has an incredibly cool job! We can’t speak highly enough of Dr. Russ and feel truly blessed to have him in our lives. His support means the world to us, and we’re so grateful for his dedication and guidance over the years. Thank you, Russ, for being part of Laps for Liam and for believing in Liam’s dreams!

WHAT IS NOT A WHEELCHAIR KID RIG?

The "Not a Wheelchair Kids Rig" is an amazing, all-terrain wheelchair designed specifically for kids who love exploring the outdoors. It’s like a mini off-road vehicle that lets Liam go on adventures he wouldn’t be able to tackle with a regular wheelchair or bike. Built with super-durable tires and a comfy seat, it’s made for trails, uneven ground, and even snowy paths—so Liam can hike, roll, and explore without limits!

This rig will give him the freedom to keep up with friends, navigate the trails he loves, and stay active in all kinds of weather. It’s not just a wheelchair; it’s Liam’s ticket to more independence and endless outdoor fun!
